Updates on the stock market: IREDA Up 10%, Sensex Jumps 450 Points, and Nifty Above 22,250

Monday’s opening gains for the key equity indexes were 400 points higher on the BSE Sensex at 73,486 and 126 points higher on the NSE Nifty50 at 22,278.

On the Sensex, the top gainers were Axis Bank, Tata Steel, Bajaj Finance, Ultratech Cement, Kotak Bank, ICICI Bank, Wipro, and L&T; the top losers were HDFC Bank and JSW Steel.

However, among the top gainers on the NSE Nifty 50 were BPCL and Coal India, while among the top losers were Mahindra and Mahindra.

The BSE MidCap and SmallCap indexes also saw gains of 0.96 and 1.20 percent, respectively, as the wider markets got off to a great start.

The NSE’s top four sectors for sectoral gains are Nifty PSU Bank, Nifty Realty, Nifty Healthcare, and Nifty Consumer Durables.

Worldwide Cues

Every major benchmark index in Asia was operating in positive territory. Leading the advances were the Australian ASX200 and the Hong Kong Hang Seng, both of which had percentage increases.

In contrast, S&P 500 futures increased by 0.3%. Futures for the Dow Jones Industrial Average increased by 0.3%, while those for the Nasdaq 100 gained by 0.4%.
