’28 Years Later’ cast members Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Ralph Fiennes have joined

In the follow-up to the 2002 zombie phenomenon “28 Days Later,” actors Jodie Comer, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, and Ralph Fiennes have joined the cast of 28 Years Later. After a 17-year break, filmmakers Danny Boyle and Alex Garland are teaming together again for the franchise.

In the 2002 film “28 Days Later,” Cillian Murphy plays a bicycle courier who, after contracting a virus, wakes up from a coma to find that the world has been overrun by zombies. ’28 Weeks Later’ (2007) was a stand-alone sequel to the movie office hit, and Boyle and Garland were the only executive producers.

The first in a proposed trilogy of sequels is titled “28 Years Later.” Boyle and Garland are not only writing and directing the movie, respectively, but they are also producing it. Murphy is coming back as an executive producer as well.

Comer, who won an Emmy for her performance in “Killing Eve,” has also acted in films directed by Ridley Scott, “The Last Duel,” and Ryan Reynolds, “Free Guy.” She will next be featured in “The Bikeriders,” directed by Jeff Nichols.

Known for his roles in “Bullet Train” and “Nocturnal Animals,” actor Taylor-Johnson has a number of films under his belt, including “The Fall Guy” and “Kraven the Hunter.”

Fiennes, who was most recently seen in Wes Anderson’s “The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar” and “Three More,” is scheduled to appear in Edward Berger’s “Conclave” and Uberto Pasolini’s “The Return.”
