Details within. A businessman from Bengaluru’s wife and his 11-year-old kid become Jain monks

A Karnataka family has gained notoriety for their extraordinary act of devotion and dedication to spiritual principles by accepting monastic life inside the Jain community. Manish’s 30-year-old wife Sweety and their 11-year-old son Hridhan just completed the holy ritual of Diksha, which signifies their official admission into the austere lifestyle.

In the Jain community, giving up material luxuries and choosing to follow a path of spiritual discipline is seen as a very noble choice. As advised by the teachings of the Jain Gods, Sweety, now known as Bhavshudhi Rekha Shri Ji, and her son, Hitashay Ratanavijay Ji, have voluntarily given up contemporary comforts including air conditioners, fans, mattresses, electronics, and other equipment.

A close cousin named Viveka told the press that Sweety had made up her mind to become a monk even though she was expecting Hridhan. She was adamant that her kid would pursue spiritual interests her whole life, just as she had. As so, Hridhan was brought up knowing that he would one day choose the monastic path—a choice that his father, Manish, fully encouraged.

Speaking to the media, Viveka said that Sweety and Hridhan’s choice had pleased and proudly reminded Manish and other family members. The family’s steadfast support demonstrates how deeply they adhere to Jain customs and ideals.

In January 2024, the mother-son pair’s solemn Diksha ceremony was held in Surat, Gujarat, amid tremendous respect and jubilation. After receiving spiritual initiation, Bhavshudhi Rekha Shri Ji and Hitashay Ratanavijay Ji settled in Surat, where they are still pursuing enlightenment and spiritual development.
