According to Mithun Chakraborty on “Kabuliwala,” “Rahmat” evokes profound nostalgia and resonates on a global scale

The part of “Rahmat” in “Kabuliwala,” a historical masterpiece written by the famous Rabindranath Tagore, will be played by seasoned actor Mithun Chakraborty.

In the first shot, Mithun is shown as an Afghan guy with a grey pathani suit and matching helmet. On his one shoulder, he is carrying a blue jhola bag. A beard, a moustache, and a thin coating of Kajal complete the appearance.

Rahmat, a character played by Mithun in Tagore’s masterwork, has a strong emotional impact on viewers of all ages.

 

Regarding his performance of Rahmat in “Kabuliwala,” Mithun said: “I expect a really emotional trip. The character’s steadfast love and close relationship with Mini generate intense memories and touch all viewers.

 

Rahmat’s timeless narrative, “Kabuliwala,” is set in the vibrant city of Kolkata in 1965 and tells the tale of a middle-aged Afghan man whose heart overflowing with fatherly love for a little girl named Mini.

 

The movie highlights the era that epitomizes warm relationships and the profound value of love that knows no bounds, across both nations and cultures.

 

Suman Ghosh, who previously worked with Mithun on the critically acclaimed “Nobel Chor,” is poised to work her magic once more by bringing this classic to life once more on the Bengali silver screen, 66 years after the pioneering director Tapan Sinha immortalized Tagore’s moving story on the silver celluloid.

 

Suman, who is renowned for his extraordinary storytelling abilities, is prepared to take viewers on an incredible trip that explores the touching bond between Rahmat and Mini.

 

“Our film pays respect to the 1957 Bengali version, which grabbed the hearts of cinephiles via the memorable depiction of the protagonist by the acclaimed Bengali actor, Chhabi Biswas,” he added. “Drawing inspiration from Tagore’s timeless masterwork, ‘Kabuliwala,’ our film pays homage to the 1957 Bengali adaptation.

 

Suman said, “Our cinematic endeavor will beautifully capture the spirit of love and desire, as Rahmat finds comfort in the innocence of the small girl, invoking emotional memories of his own kid, whom he had been separated from in his country.

 

The talented Indraadip Dasgupta will provide the soulful music to enhance the compelling story and further elevate the moving journey of “Kabuliwala.”

The highly anticipated filming of “Kabuliwala,” which is set to start on Tuesday, is expected to capture viewers with its evocative storyline, rich cinematography, and soul-stirring performances.

 

Jyoti Deshpande, Shrikant Mohta, and Mahendra Soni are the producers of this work, which is directed by SVF Entertainment.

 

Jio Studios and SVF plan to release it for Christmas in 2023.
