Actor Sahil Khan has been placed into police detention till May 1 by the Mumbai Special Court

Actor Sahil Khan, of Style and Xcuse Me, was placed under arrest by the Mumbai special court on Sunday. The performer will remain under arrest until May 1, 2024. The SIT of the Mumbai Crime Branch apprehended Khan, a resident of Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh. He’s been accused of working in tandem with Lotus App 247, the sister app of the Mahadev betting app. In the Mahadev betting app scandal, a charge has been filed at the Matunga police station against 37 individuals, including Sahil Khan. Today, the actor appeared in court in Mumbai, where a custody order was issued, valid until May 1.

This situation transpired a few days after the SIT moved following actor Sahil Khan’s motion for anticipatory bail in the High Court being denied by the judge. He was “directly connected with the online betting application,” according to the Supreme Court.

According to the police, actor Sahil Khan founded 67 distinct betting websites wherein individuals are coerced into placing unlawful bets. The accused has taken money out of and deposited it into these websites using over 2000 SIM cards.

For this, fictitious papers have been employed. Approximately 1700 fictitious bank accounts were set up in order to transfer funds abroad and exchange them for cryptocurrencies. Additionally, these papers were produced at several banks using fictitious documentation. The accused utilized more than a thousand WhatsApp groups and Telegram channels, according to the police, to advertise their betting website. Additional information has been requested by police from all bank accounts, online betting platforms, and SIM card providers.
