Ajay Devgn commemorates “Kachche Dhaage” for 25 years

Star of Bollywood Ajay Devgn celebrated the 25th anniversary of his action-packed thriller “Kachche Dhaage,” marking a significant moment in his successful career. On Monday, the seasoned actor visited Instagram and gave his followers a throwback video of clips from the classic movie. The film “Kachche Dhaage,” which was directed by Milan Luthria, made his directorial debut and featured Ajay Devgn, Saif Ali Khan, Manisha Koirala, and Namrata Shirodkar in important parts. It was released on February 19, 1999.

The film connected with viewers of many languages despite having mostly folk and Punjabi music, mainly because of the memorable songs by the late Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and the moving lyrics by Anand Bakshi.

The protagonist of the story is Ajay Devgn’s courageous smuggler who traverses the perilous terrain along the border between Pakistan and Rajasthan. Filmed against the stunning settings of the picturesque landscapes of Switzerland and the deserts of Rajasthan, the film captured the attention of viewers when it was first released in Mumbai on February 10, 1999.

It’s interesting to note that “Kachche Dhaage” is the same title as a 1973 Raj Khosla film starring Vinod Khanna, Moushumi Chatterjee, and Kabir Bedi. But Ajay Devgn’s adaptation has a plot that is similar to Jackie Chan’s 1987 action-adventure film “Armor of God.”

In the near future, Ajay Devgn will star opposite the gifted Tabu in Neeraj Pandey’s eagerly awaited film “Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha,” which will continue his cinematic career. The film offers an engaging cinematic experience, set against the background of an original musical love narrative entwined with epic romantic drama spanning two decades, from 2002 to 2023. “Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha,” which is set for a multilingual release and stars Shantanu Maheshwari and Saiee Manjrekar in important roles, is expected to open in cinemas on April 26, 2024.
