Amitabh Bachchan was referred to as “Lambu ji” by Jaya Bachchan till she stopped because of her daughter Shweta Bachchan

In June 1973, Jaya Bachchan and Amitabh Bachchan exchanged vows. Following the success of their film “Zanjeer,” the pair got married right away, and the rest is history. However, Big B and Jaya Ji continue to be one of the cutest pairs—especially considering how much of a talking point their height difference is! However, did you know that Jaya Bachchan used to address her husband as “Lambu ji” as well?

But because of their daughter, Shweta Bachchan, she stopped doing so.
In an interview with Filmfare, she reportedly said, “I used to call him Lambu Ji till Shweta began calling him by that name also. I knew it was time to give up.” The seasoned actress further discloses that Big B was a highly involved parent, especially in Shweta’s case since he had become rather busy by the time Abhishek Bachchan was born and growing up. The ‘Guddi’ actress said, “We had a maid to help during the day after Shweta was born, but we would handle everything ourselves at night.” Actually, Amit would take over on Sundays. Even bathe her, he would.”
Abhishek was born in February 1976, and Shweta in March 1974.
Regarding her career, Jaya Bachchan most recently starred with Dharmendra, Shabana Azmi, Alia Bhatt, Ranveer Singh, and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, directed by Karan Johar. Fans are already enjoying her insightful remarks and appearances on Navya Nanda’s podcast, but they can’t wait to see her on film more often!
