actor-turned-TMC Pilot of MP Dev’s chopper makes an emergency landing when it catches fire

Deepak Adhikari, an actor and TMC’s Ghatal MP, came dangerously close to death on Friday when, shortly after taking off from Malda helipad, his chopper caught fire, forcing the pilot to make an emergency landing, according to police.

Adhikari, also referred to as Dev, was uninjured and went on to drive by vehicle to Raninagar, where he was scheduled to attend another electoral rally, according to authorities.

Mamata Banerjee, the chief minister of West Bengal, called Dev to find out what was going on.

It is inevitable that some trauma will occur. The scent, smoke, and turbulence affect me psychologically. In order to go to my next meeting in the Murshidabad district’s Raninagar, I phoned the chief minister and informed her that I would rather travel by road than by helicopter,” Dev said.

Dev was in the area to support party candidate Prasun Banerjee in the Maldah (Uttar) Lok Sabha seat.

“I survived with people’s love and blessings,” the TMC MP said. I got a close-up look at death. I’m all right now.

According to a senior Malda police official who spoke with PTI, a mechanical malfunction could have started the fire.
