Baramulla, a former hotbed of separatism, welcomes Bollywood once again for Emraan Hashmi’s “Ground Zero”

Srinagar: Bollywood actor Emraan Hashmi was warmly welcomed to Baramulla in Jammu and Kashmir, which was once known as a hotspot of violence, for the filming of his next web series, “Ground Zero.

This is the first time in many decades that the community is seeing a calm web series filming. The transformation of Baramulla’s ancient town is seen as a representation of “Naya Kashmir,” a region where harmony rules.

In the web series, which follows the adventures of BSF second in command Narendra Nath Dhar Dubey, who played a key part in Ghazi Baba’s removal, Emraan Hashmi will portray a BSF officer. The film explores Dubey’s two-year inquiry, which culminates in his meeting with Jaish-e-Mohammad head Ghazi Baba.

Town transforms into a joyous scene
An exuberant scene was created in the historic Baramulla town as a Bollywood team came to film the Kashmir segment for the soon-to-be webseries on Amazon Prime.

When actor Emraan Hashmi arrived in the once violent town, the mood brightened. Individuals of different ages left their houses to attend the Bollywood drama filming. People in the community flocked to the location as soon as word got out about the movie shoot and they hurried to be there.

Bollywood star Emraan Hashmi was accosted by locals who wanted to take selfies with him. According to a local, the day was not only spent filming the Bollywood movie but also left a lasting impression on the residents, who were seen taking selfies to commemorate the occasion. The actor will be featured in the web series as he goes on a risky expedition to Kashmir to deal with a delicate problem.

More than 200 filmmakers have applied for authorization to film in the valley in 2024. Film producers from South and Bollywood have once again turned their attention to the stunning vistas of Kashmir. After 102 movies and web series were shot there in 2023, Kashmir became a major hub for the film industry.

The J&K administration’s film strategy has been a major factor in drawing filmmakers to Kashmir. About 300 of the 700 producers that filed for shooting permits during the previous two years were granted approval.
