The distributors and exhibitors were compelled to remodel their theaters as a result of the unconventional and creative marketing and distribution plan. All the while, the movie managed to avoid the greatest threat of the day: piracy!

August 5, 1994 saw the theatrical debut of Hum Aapke Hain Koun…! There were only 26 prints made, and each city was only allowed to have one theater. The theater was called Liberty in Mumbai and Delite in Delhi. The movie could only be shown in theaters throughout the nation that have a “optical stereo system.” Exhibitors have the option of upgrading or not getting to see the movie.
