Dadasaheb Phalke Best Actress Award for “Jawan” goes to Nayanthara

Nayanthara won the Dadasaheb Phalke International Film Festival Awards 2024 for Best Actress in recognition of her superb performance in the suspenseful thriller “Jawan.” Nayanthara was given the prize by actor Shah Rukh Khan.

On social media, a number of videos showing SRK giving his “Jawan” co-star Nayanthara the award have emerged.

In the video, the “Pathaan” superstar is also seen introducing Nayanthara to the stage and entertaining the crowd with a performance of the song “Chaleya.”

At the DPIFF 2024, SRK won the Best Actor award for his performance in “Jawan.”

The “Chak De India” legend had two roles in the film: one as a police officer and the other as SRK’s love interest, played by Nayanthara.

“Jawan,” which was released on September 7 of last year, was the first film that SRK and filmmaker Atlee worked on together.

The film marks Atlee’s debut as a filmmaker in Bollywood and stars Deepika Padukone, Priyamani, Sanya Malhotra, Ridhi Dogra, Lehar Khan, Girija Oak, and Sanjeeta Bhattacharya among its notable ensemble.

“Jawan” has redefined success at the box office, leaving its mark in the annals of record-breaking achievements and capturing viewers with its gripping story and outstanding performances.

Shah Rukh had earlier said, “It’s a celebration,” expressing his joy at the movie’s success. It’s not often that a film can be experienced for years on end. Because to Covid and scheduling restrictions, the production of Jawan has lasted for four years. Many individuals were engaged in this movie, particularly those from the South who moved to Mumbai and have lived there for the last four years while putting in the toughest labor possible, day and night.
