Eva Mendes Explains Why Her Daughters Cannot Access the Internet

Hollywood actress Eva Mendes, the spouse of actor Ryan Gosling, has disclosed the guidelines for her family’s internet usage policies for their girls.

According to People magazine, Mendes, 49, recently posted a video of herself on Instagram shaking her head and waving her hands in protest.

“When my kids ask me if they’re old enough to go on the internet, social media, or anything requiring wifi,” she jokingly joked in the post. Daughters Esmeralda Amada, 8, and Amada Lee, 7, were born to the “Hitch” actress and Gosling, 42.

Mendes took the time to react to social media users who commented on her parenting approach after uploading the photo.

“I’m just sharing what I feel now, but I know it’s gonna get harder as they get older,” the mother of two wrote on the subject, as reported by People. Since we live in the “internet century,” everyone will someday need or desire access to the internet, according to one commentator.

Mendes said, “Yes true, but children do not have access to the internet in my home. It’s much too risky. For me, using the internet comes into the same category as not allowing kids to vote, drink, or acquire a driver’s license, etc. particularly in social media.

The conversation proceeded, and someone asked the “Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans” actress whether she had a target age in mind for when her daughters would be allowed to use the Internet.

Sincerely, I have no idea; for the time being, I’m watching them and keeping up with studies on the potential effects of social media on a child’s brain. I’m taking it one step at a time,” Mendes said.

Esmeralda and Amada do have access to some contemporary technology, she acknowledged: “I let my kids use the iPad to make movies and watch films I’ve downloaded, but I don’t have internet access on the iPad.”
