On Wednesday in Mumbai, the much-awaited launch night of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s first web series, Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar, proved to be a glamorous occasion attended by a number of Bollywood celebrities.

Stars from senior actress Rekha to superstar Salman Khan, actor Vicky Kaushal, Mrunal Thakur, and actress Alia Bhatt came together to support Bhansali and his ‘Heeramandi’ team.

He recently discussed his part as Wali Mohammad in “Heeramandi” during the show’s major trailer debut in the nation’s capital. As he discussed his long-awaited comeback to the performing arts, he also became a bit emotional.

“I’ve been away from it for a very long time—nearly 14 years. I’m really appreciative of this chance. “As an actor, I couldn’t have asked for a better chance to hit the big screen again,” Fardeen, who last appeared in “Dulha Mil Gaya” in 2010, said.

He said that Bhansali gives performers the freedom to “bring depth to the roles.”
“This was something I have never done for myself, so it was the ideal role for me,” Fardeen said. ‘Heeramandi’, starring a remarkable ensemble cast that includes Shekhar Suman, Adhyayan Suman, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Richa Chadha, Aditi Rao Hydari, Manisha Koirala, and Sharmin Segal, will be released on May 1.

The project, which is set against the background of the 1940s Indian liberation fight, is billed as an epic tale of power, love, retribution, and freedom.
