“He Takes Care Of You, Has A Motherly Side,” Dibakar Banerjee said of the outfit that Karan Johar designed for him

With much anticipation for the debut of LSD 2, director Dibakar Banerjee recently discussed his bond with Karan Johar. He spoke about Karan’s concern for those around him. They have collaborated on anthology movies such as Lust Stories, Ghost Stories, and Bombay Talkies. Dibakar said that, despite their few meetings, Karan was the one who started their friendship.

Dibakar expressed his enjoyment of working on the anthologies in a YouTube conversation with Siddharth Kannan, citing his friendships with Zoya Akhtar and Anurag Kashyap as particular reasons. He regarded cooperating with these filmmakers as an opportunity to expand his audience and he was grateful to Karan for reaching out first. “All of them help the movie get good publicity, which gives my movie a chance.” When Bombay Talkies were presented to me, I immediately answered, “Yes, I am doing it.” Because my brand identity will benefit from collaborating with them. I had a great time experiencing it,” he said.

Dibakar Banerjee discussed his acquaintance with Karan Johar in addition. He recalled one occasion when Karan created him a dress and groomed his hair in Paris. According to the director, Karan is similar to a nurturing mother. “While I’m sitting in Paris, Karan did my hair. Karan has a maternal aspect. He looks after you. As an ugly duckling, I was sort of adopted by him. Since I am a fashionista… ‘Dibakar, you have to do this,’ he says. I donned an outfit he created for a premiere,” he remarked.

In the meantime, Love Sex Aur Dhokha 2’s trailer, which was just published, has generated a lot of interest. In a recent podcast appearance, the director claimed that the movie is not contentious. He was candid about his study methodology as well. Dibakar said, “It’s not very edgy or bold; there’s no Hindu-Muslim stuff, and I’m not bashing Pakistan,” during an interview with the Dostcast podcast. I also don’t criticize India. He said that he was almost driven to the brink of giving up on filmmaking entirely when he was directing the picture. He said, “But I am an addict; I am too addicted.”
