Helen Mirren: Don’t worry about winnings snubs

Hollywood icon Helen Mirren said that although she wishes Greta Gerwig and actress Margot Robbie had received Oscar nominations, she does not see the need to be “upset” over the lack of nominations.

The fact that Robbie and Gerwig were left off of the Academy Awards shortlist for their work on “Barbie” disappointed the 78-year-old actress.
“Honestly, you can’t get upset about things like that,” Helen said on “Entertainment Tonight.” The fact that “Barbie” became Warner Brothers’ highest-grossing movie to date is amazing. Additionally, do you recall who took home the best picture award from the previous year?Naturally, I would have delighted to watch Greta (if she had been nominated), and I believe that she ought to win best director.

It’s very challenging; you know, you can’t run in this event. The work that Christopher Nolan did on “Oppenheimer” was astounding. However, I thought Greta’s art was so daring, so unconventional, and unlike anything we had ever seen. I find it so wonderful that the crowd gave the response that they did.”

According to femalefirst.co.uk, Helen also verified allegations that there was a deleted scene from “Barbie” in which she sparred with a “drunk” Olivia Colman when the “Crown” actress tried to take over as narrator.
“Yes, we did shoot that scene,” she said. I want to watch it at some point.”
