Kenneth Branagh and Uma Thurman collaborate on “The King of Kings.”

We previously announced that Mofac Animation was developing the animated picture The King of Kings. As Charles Dickens’s and his wife Catherine Dickens’ voices, Kenneth Branagh and Uma Thurman have now joined the ensemble.

The Life of Our Lord, a short novella by Charles Dickens that was released years after the author’s death, served as the basis for the movie. It centers on Dickens and his youngest son Walters (Roman Griffin Davis), who together with their cat Willa, become absorbed in the story of Jesus.

Director Seong-ho Jang, well known for Spartacus, and screenwriter Rob Edwards collaborated on the writing for The King of Kings. The film is being produced by Anfernee Kim, with Andrew Mann and Jamie Thomason serving as executive producers.

“Kenneth Branagh, Uma Thurman, and Roman Griffin Davis bring all the emotion, awe, heart, and gravitas to these essential characters, and they are at the core of our story, anchoring a truly impressive cast, many of whom we look forward to sharing in the near future,” Kim said. “Our audience experiences the life of Jesus Christ through the Dickens family,” she continued.
