Kerala Story: LDF and UDF detect unrest

The two front-runners in the Lok Sabha election have encountered an unanticipated roadblock as their campaigns enter the second phase.

Three significant Catholic groups in the Syro Malabar region have offered to exhibit the contentious film The Kerala Story for the devout, after the governing CPM and the opposition Congress’s complaint to the Central Election Commission a few days earlier.

The BJP seemed to have discovered an unanticipated lifeline, while the LDF and the UDF were caught entirely off guard.

LDF and UDF, who are both quite critical of the film, have taken a backseat to the church’s decision to show it. The leaders of the two fronts haven’t ceased criticizing the movie, but they haven’t criticized the Church leadership either out of concern for the decline of their different Christian support bases.

Kerala Catholic Youth Movement will show “Kerala Story” in additional dioceses Both Congress veteran A K Antony and Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan issued joint warnings to the public not to fall into the Sangh parivar’s trap. According to Antony, the movie’s Doordarshan transmission was intended to incite conflict amongst different communities. He asked people to avoid falling into the BJP’s trap.

Speaking to the Kollam media, Pinarayi emphasized that the movie was a component of the Sangh Parivar’s strategy to attack minorities, not only Muslims. The objective of the RSS is every minority community. They are being turned against one other by the RSS. Refrain from falling into that trap and refrain from supporting the Sangh parivar objective. It is stated that this film tells the tale of Kerala. However, it is rife with obvious falsehoods. Kerala is a brotherly state. The chief minister said, “We have been attempting to develop such a land since the Renaissance period.”

He continued, criticizing the film’s release as a means of tarnishing Kerala’s reputation and said, “They seek to portray Kerala as a hotbed of communalism, which is far from the truth.” People of various castes and creeds live in harmony in our society,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Church decision has greatly bolstered the BJP-led NDA with elections only two weeks away. According to social pundits, this may show itself in the next Lok Sabha elections. The BJP will gain from the whole debate around “Love Jihad,” according to social critic M N Karassery.

“The Kerala Story” will be shown in three more Syro-Malabar Church eparchies in Kerala.

The two religious groups have recently been less trusting of one another as a result of several issues, including as the Hagia Sophia controversy. There are initiatives to split the Mulsim and Christian populations apart. He noted that the Church is treating this as a social problem. It seems that the Church is carrying out the BJP’s plan. Unfortunately, society’s communal polarization would only become worse as a result of this. It will undoubtedly have some effect in the next Lok Sabha elections, even if we may not be able to determine how much,” he said.
