Man Arrested for Scheduling a Cab in Bishnoi’s Name and Sending It to the Actor’s Residence: Salman Khan House Firing

A resident hailing from Ghaziabad was apprehended for purportedly reserving a cab under the guise of the incarcerated criminal figure Lawrence Bishnoi and dispatching it to the abode of the luminary of Bollywood, Salman Khan, situated at Galaxy Apartments in the Bandra vicinity of Mumbai, where the thespian dwells alongside his esteemed progenitors, the venerable screenwriter Salim Khan and matriarch Salma Khan. The accused, Rohit Tyagi, apprehended from his domicile, purportedly orchestrated this as a jest, as per a police spokesperson divulging this to the news agency PTI.

On the designated day, Tyagi purportedly reserved a cab online for a voyage from Salman’s abode to the precincts of the Bandra police station. Upon the arrival of the cab driver at the designated location, the reality of the prank dawned upon him, prompting him to file a grievance.

In light of the severity of the occurrence, the Bandra police initiated legal proceedings and traced Tyagi, subsequently detaining him under the purview of IPC sections 505 (utterances conducive to public mischief) and 290 (public disturbance). He has been remanded to police custody by a court. Bishnoi had been thrust into the limelight earlier in the week following an incident where an individual on a motorcycle discharged a firearm at Salman Khan’s abode last Sunday.

While the purported perpetrator and his accomplice were apprehended, the authorities had intimated their investigation into the potential involvement of the Bishnoi syndicate in the aforementioned gunfire, subsequent to Anmol Bishnoi, the younger sibling of the incarcerated criminal, laying claim to the assault outside Salman Khan’s residence through a post on Facebook.

The accused, Vicky Gupta (24) and Sagar Pal (21), both domiciled in Champaran, Bihar, were apprehended in Bhuj, Gujarat, on April 16 and subsequently extradited to Mumbai.

“Accused Sagar Pal was swayed by the allure of the criminal lifestyle and, in pursuit of his aspirations, became affiliated with the syndicate, ultimately securing the contract for the gunfire outside Salman Khan’s residence; the accused were apprised of the magnitude of the task and the ensuing financial remuneration,” disclosed the Mumbai Police.

Sources suggest that the investigation uncovered communication between Anmol Bishnoi, Sagar Pal and Vicky Gupta via internet-based telephony. The duo received an advance payment of Rs 1 lakh for the commission of the shooting and were promised an additional Rs 3 lakh upon its execution.

Per revelations from the crime branch, Sagar Pal received training in the handling of the firearm within his environs in West Champaran, which was subsequently utilized in the assault.

During the course of the investigation, the accused further divulged that they conducted reconnaissance of Salman Khan’s farmhouse in Panvel 4-5 days prior to the shooting incident. However, it was ultimately decided that the gunfire would be directed towards the Bandra locale.
