Martin Scorsese, the director, wants to cast Leonardo DiCaprio as Frank Sinatra in a new biopic

After his film about Jesus, director Martin Scorsese is apparently preparing for a new project in which he hopes to capture the spirit of Frank Sinatra’s life in a biopic. Additionally, Scorsese is planning to pair Jennifer Lawrence, who may play Frank Sinatra’s second wife, Ava Gardner, with Leonardo DiCaprio, the renowned singer-actor.

The two previously appeared together on screen in the Don’t Look Up movie from 2021. Frank’s estate is under the hands of Tina Sinatra, who has not yet approved the idea.

With his diverse career, Frank Sinatra—who died in 1998 at the age of 82—left a lasting impression on the 20th century. Sinatra’s legacy endures, having starred in movies like The Manchurian Candidate in 1962 and crooned ageless hits like My Way and New York, New York.

The singer’s personal life was similarly remarkable; his love journey was marked by four marriages. 1951 saw Sinatra file for divorce from his first wife, Nancy Barbato, and later that year, he wed the actress Ava Gardner.

But in 1957, their marriage ended in divorce. After that, Sinatra wed Mia Farrow and then Barbara Marx, with whom he stayed until his death.

If the Sinatra biography comes to be, it would be DiCaprio and Scorsese’s ninth joint project; they most recently collaborated on the 2023 film Killers.
