Mrunal Thakur, Shahid Kapoor’s co-star in Jersey, remembers the early discomfort with the actor: “I would forget my lines.”
Mrunal Thakur is a well-known admirer of Shahid Kapoor. A self-confessed admirer of his work, particularly in the well-known movie Jab We Met, she recently spoke about working with him on their 2022 project, Jersey.
During the shooting, Mrunal Thakur’s fangirl status was comically apparent. In a recent interview with Humans of Bombay, she said, “I got the address wrong and ended up late the day I was supposed to meet Shahid Kapoor for a script reading.” “When I finally met him, I blurted out, ‘Your smile in real life is exactly like it is on screen!”
That first uncomfortable feeling remained. “During the shoot of Jersey, there were moments when I would forget my lines because I was so overwhelmed being on set with Shahid Kapoor.”
Mrunal said that although Shahid was a great co-star, there was some uneasiness at first. She gets a little nervous when she works alongside somebody she has liked on TV.
During the same conversation, Thakur revealed that while individuals behave as if everything is OK online, this is not the case in real life. She said that there were times when she was reluctant to get out of bed in the morning.
The actress saw that many people posted their best holiday images on social media, giving the impression that they were on vacation. She wondered, however, whether this really does capture their excitement of the occasion. The actress said that she usually ends herself coated in dirt and sand while dining or relaxing at the beach, which makes her seem less than attractive. Thakur spoke about being made fun of for her pear-shaped physique later in the conversation.
“I’m going to change that beauty standard by flaunting my curves,” the actress said. I used to be so terrified to wear anything that hugged my body. However, now I’m thinking, “Body-hugging? Go ahead and do it. What about crop tops? Go ahead and do it. Why are Kardashians even necessary to define beauty standards? Every Indian lady you see strolling down the street is stunning and curvy.
