On the anniversary of Major Mukund Varadarajan’s death, Rajkumar Periasamy pays his respects

It is known that “Amaran,” the forthcoming film starring Sivakarthikeyan and directed by Rajkumar Periasamy, is a biography of Indian Army commander Major Mukund Varadarajan. Director Rajkumar Periasamy paid his tribute to Major Mukund Varadarajan on the anniversary of his death, as well as to Sepoy Vikram Singh, who also died on that day.

The Ashoka Chakra recipient, Major Mukund Varadarajan, sacrificed his life on April 25, 2014, while leading a search and cordon operation against terrorists in South Kashmir. The action was based on intelligence inputs.

In the movie, which stars Sivakarthikeyan as Major Mukund Varadarajan, the actor plays the man who, after his death, was given the Ashok Chakra for his efforts during a counterterrorism operation while serving as a deputation to the 44th Rashtriya Rifles unit in Jammu and Kashmir.
