Producer of Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai Rajan Shahi terminates Shehzada Dhami and clarifies the dating condition

Currently one of the most rated series on Indian television is Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. After Shehzada Dhami and Pratiksha Honmukhe were fired last month, other performers took over. Everyone was astonished by show producer Rajan Shahi’s choice, but he had good reasons. Following the termination, rumors circulated that the producer’s contracts had a no-dating provision.

 

Rajan Shahi has now dispelled these rumors in a chat. He gave an explanation for his extreme decision to fire his actors as well.

Rajan Shahi said in an interview with Saas Bahu Aur Saazish of ABP that they released an official press statement after the dismissal of Shehzada Dhami and Pratiksha Honmukhe. However, this sparked a number of rumors, one of which claims he put a disclaimer prohibiting performers from dating or falling in love while they were filming.

For those who are unaware, Shehzada Dhami and Pratiksha Honmukhe were in a romantic relationship after meeting on the set of the program. Following months of conjecture, the announcement was verified. “The incident involving Shehzada and Pratiksha is clear-cut, but I need to address this dating clause,” the producer said.

Shahi said, “Even the most dimwitted person could come up with a clause like this,” in reference to the clause. Is there really a rule that actors cannot date or fall in love with one another? Is a dictatorship in place right now?

He also discussed how performers had fallen in love and married while working on his set. On the sets of his programs, actors Vinny Arora and Dheeraj Dhoopar, and Lata Sabharwal and Sanjeev Seth, first met.

He made the following statement while discussing where to draw the line: “I will be the first to congratulate anyone who falls in love on my sets.” The sole rule is that once you leave the set, your personal life starts. From then, you may do whatever you want, but it shouldn’t interfere with your job. If you can find any evidence of this provision in any of my contracts, I will resign. Being in a relationship does not preclude you from being professional; you simply need to ensure that the relationship does not negatively impact the unit.

The producer of Anupamaa also discussed his decision to fire Shehzada, revealing that several people had alerted him to the actor’s problematic conduct before to his casting. He also said in the chat how he first saw the actor acting inappropriately on set: “I did not like that actor’s attitude during an outdoor shoot when there was an incident.” I spent three hours that evening sitting with every actor and explaining things to them.”

Shahi went on to say, “That attitude seemed incorrect right from the start. I had even talked to the channel that night, and they advised me to replace him right there. However, it continued to change over time and appeared fine the next day. Even the veteran performers on my set have such a humble demeanor. He had a star quality about him; you had to compel respect rather than ask for it.

Rajan Shahi said that while he offered Dhami a lot of leeway, he understood that Dhami wouldn’t alter his mindset. Because he was the lead, the producer didn’t want his attitude to negatively affect the other team members.
