Bathinda defeats Ludhiana, with Uday Pratap in the lead role

In the first league game of group B of the Punjab State Inter-District (U-23) One-Day Limited Overs Cricket Tournament, Bathinda easily defeated Ludhiana by four wickets thanks to a superb all-around effort by India U-19 skipper Uday Pratap Saharan (114 runs and 2 for 41). The game took place on Wednesday in Bath.

After winning the toss and opting to bat first, the visitors amassed 249 runs in 50 overs for the loss of six wickets. Saksham Vij (57), Harshit Takkar (47 not out), Sarthak Tyagi (41), Rajveer Soni (40 not out), and Bhavish Sethi (24 not out) were the significant contributors to this total.

In ten overs, Uday Pratap Saharan and Delove Kumar Goyal claimed two wickets each for 41 runs and 58 runs, respectively, for the home team. Gurparam Singh Dhami claimed one wicket with 39 runs conceded.

Bathinda lost six wickets in 47.3 overs, but they still managed to reach the goal. The captain of the India U-19 squad, Uday Pratap Saharan, scored a century, which was the high point of their innings. During his memorable 114-run innings, he faced 110 balls and smashed 12 overs and one six.

The second game, which will pit Ludhiana against Faridkot, is scheduled for May 3 in Faridkot.
