Siddharth Anand REACTS to Hania Aamir, a Pakistani actress, criticizing “Fighter,” which stars Deepika Padukone and Hrithik Roshan

Some Pakistani celebrities have criticized Siddharth Anand’s highly anticipated film, “Fighter,” before of its huge premiere. Now, the director has responded to the same.

Actors from Pakistan, including Hania Aamir and Adnan Siddiqui, criticized the “Fighter” teaser, which showed the Indian Air Force attacking Pakistan in retaliation for a heinous terror incident.
Director Siddharth Anand seems to have responded to the criticism on his social media account, X (previously known as Twitter).

Siddharth included a contemplating face emoji in response to a tweet on Hania Aamir’s most recent Instagram Stories. The tweet said, “Did she really work on an anti-Indian movie? Why do Pakistani celebrities worry so much about the anti-Indian things that their Indian counterparts do in films if Indian celebrities don’t mind?”
The tweet “Was ‘art’ breathing here?” was another. The initial tweet said, “Parwaaz Hai Junoon was an anti-Indian Air Force movie and Hania Aamir starred in it.” It was about the 2018 Pakistani film of the same name. Another X user agreed, saying, “Yeah, they depicted the Indian Air Force as villains.” Siddharth Anand reacted to this by saying, “Oh!!”

Following the release of the “Fighter” trailer, Hania posted on her Instagram stories, saying, “It is sad and regrettable to know that there are artists in this day and age who understand the power of film but still choose to fuel tensions between the two nations.” I have sympathy for artists who attempt to close the gap by using their work as a vehicle for communication. Repulsive; give art room to breathe.

The Pakistani actor Adnan Siddiqui voiced his disappointment without specifically mentioning the movie. He expressed how depressing it was to see Pakistanis portrayed as villains in Bollywood. “Once celebrated for love, Bollywood now crafts hate-filled narratives, portraying us as villains,” he said in his tweet. Even though we like your movies, this is depressing. Since art knows no bounds, let’s utilize it to spread love and harmony. Politics has victimized two countries, and they both deserve better.”
‘Fighter’ stars Deepika Padukone, Hrithik Roshan, Akshay Oberoi, Ashutosh Rana, Sanjeeda Sheikh, Karan Singh Grover, and other actors. The film, which has Siddharth Anand directing it, is slated for release in theaters on January 25, 2024.
