Speaking on the social duty of filmmakers, Karan Johar asserts that a single picture cannot change society on its own

Karan Johar considers the important responsibility that filmmakers have to society, realizing that while movies have an impact, they cannot completely change society on their own. Lately, social media conversations have focused on the duty of the film industry and the function of directors. The well-known activist Johar stressed the need of tact in filmmaking. He emphasized that more than one film is needed to bring about cultural transformation.

During his attendance at the 9th National Leadership Conclave of AIMA (All India Management Association) in Delhi, Karan Johar spoke about the influence of movies on society. He recognized the important role that filmmakers have in influencing how society views their medium. Johar did, however, also emphasize that although films might affect change over time, no one film has the ability to fundamentally transform a culture.

“People take the spoken word very seriously, so we have to consider what we project and say with some degree of sensitivity,” he said. Of course, one feature film cannot, by itself, alter the very structure of civilization. It isn’t achievable. To make a point in today’s world, you have to put in a lot of effort and see a lot of movies. I think that today’s films—many of which discuss women’s empowerment—are finally making an impact. Nothing occurs instantly.”

In addition, he addressed the problem of “harmful films” in society, saying, “I hope those filmmakers realize with time how important the platform they have, how important their voices are.” There are still films that are bad.

Regarding his career, Karan recently revealed the date of the premiere of “Mr. & Mrs. Mahi,” which features Janhvi Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao. “Some films are more than just stories,” he said in a news post on Instagram. They are so much more than just love on celluloid. They discuss dreams with the audience and how often those closest to us might obstruct our aspirations. We hold MR AND MRS MAHI in the highest regard, and we are eager to present our campaign concepts to you on Monday. But for now, May 31, 2024, is the release date that we have set! In a theater close to you!
The filmmaker is also preparing for the release of his films, Bad Newz and Kill.
