PSG wins their record-tying 12th French league championship

After Monaco’s 3-2 loss to Lyon, Paris Saint-Germain emerged victorious in the French league during Kylian Mbappe’s last season with the team. With three games remaining, PSG leads second-place Monaco by an insurmountable 12-point margin.

PSG’s victory in Ligue 1 is their third straight and their record-tying 12th overall. Mbappe, whose contract expires at the end of the season, has participated in six of them. Real Madrid is anticipated to sign him.

With its matchup against Lyon in the French Cup final on May 25 and the first leg of the Champions League semi-finals against Borussia Dortmund at home on Wednesday, PSG is headed for a potentially historic triple.

With only one defeat in their first 31 games, PSG has had one of the most dominating seasons in league history during head coach Luis Enrique’s tenure. PSG lost 3-3 at Le Havre on Saturday, although they had the opportunity to win the championship a day earlier.
