TV Star Urvashi Upadhyay Explains How She Was Cast for the Role Lakshmi Mangal

Renowned television actress Urvashi Upadhyay is well recognized for her several performances in various series. Having worked in the field for more than 16 years, Urvashi made her debut in Hamari Devrani. The actress portrayed the part of Manjula Nanavati in her television debut. Urvashi is now in the news for her portrayal as Kusum Saxena in the popular Colors television series Mangal Lakshmi.

With its poignant tale of two sisters, Colors’ Mangal Lakshmi is breaking the cliches of disputes between mother-in-laws and daughters-in-laws and winning over viewers’ hearts. In their interactions, both sisters want self-respect. Mangal is searching for a life mate for his sister Lakshmi, and Lakshmi supports Mangal in confronting her husband, who often makes fun of her.

Urvashi portrays Kusum Saxena, Mangal’s mother-in-law, in this television series. Urvashi spoke about this serial and her personal life in an interview with News18.

Speaking about her acting career, Urvashi talked about how it was tough for her to decide to pursue her dream of being an actress since her family was adamantly against it. “Earlier, I used to teach, but I remained associated with theater,” said Urvashi. My four older brothers are also involved in the teaching profession. I once traveled to Mumbai for a play, and I was moved to tears when it ended. “Shobhana Desai was also there at the play and noticed me crying,” she said. Why are you sobbing, she said, the play was so good? I explained that I was leaving today, that’s why.

Urvashi went on to say that Shobhana Desai requested that she give her mother a call so they could have a conversation. She then said, “From now on your daughter is my daughter too, and I will take full care of it,” to Urvashi’s mother. In Hamari Devrani, she cast Urvashi with this.

Speaking further about Mangal Lakshmi’s Kusum character, Urvashi said, “I got this job after I received the call for an audition. I had applied sharp makeup since, up until then, I had only ever played bad characters. I assumed that this character would be comparable as well. “But when I got there, I was told to clean up my makeup and keep the look simple,” she said. I really like this part since it is authentic and completely distinct from any other character I have done so far. It is easy to understand.
