When recentlywed Alia Bhatt discussed her weekly therapy visits: “It’s Not Like Anything Else.”

Beyond just her acting profession, Alia Bhatt has always been transparent about her personal life. She is open about everything, including her daughter Raha, her romance with Ranbir Kapoor, and her exercise regimen. A 2023 interview with Vogue India featured Alia, who had just become a mother, on the need to look after your mental health as a new parent. She has been attending therapy sessions to help her cope with the difficulties of being a new mother since her daughter Raha was born in November 2022. She also touched on a common topic of guilt that many new mothers experience—and it is something that has to be said.

“I’m always curious in other people’s perspectives. Are they only saying it to appease me, or do they really believe I’m handling things well? You feel very critical of yourself, even in the absence of judgment. Though I attend to therapy once a week to discuss my anxieties, I work hard on maintaining my mental health. And it makes it clearer to me that this is a process that will need time and evolution to fully grasp; I won’t be able to figure it out on day one, day five, or even day ten. Every day, you must have the ability to pick up the pieces of who you are and start again. Nothing along the lines of “Oh, I’ve got it together…” I’m handling it rather well. I own all the solutions. The actor has said that nobody is an expert in everything.

In addition to discussing motherhood, Alia opened up to Mojo Story about her issues with body image. She said that she felt under pressure to live up to certain standards because of the attention that her job received from the public. It was during the lockdown that she began to take care of her mental health by going to therapy. She has been attempting to cope with her concerns about her weight in a better manner ever since this helped her become more conscious of them. That’s been a persistent fight. “Everyone around me would see it, but I would not see it,” Alia said. “I started therapy just for hygienic reasons when I first started.” I go to the gym to take care of my body, but I also need to take care of my mind. I began it during the lockdown, when everyone was going through a difficult moment, and I reasoned that now would be a good time to begin. I was a general thing at first, but those sessions helped me realize that I had a lot of problems with… I have always known that since I am facing the camera, I am anal when it comes to my weight.
