When Zeenat Aman Was Not Selected for the Raaj Kumar Film Heer Raanjha Audition

Zeenat Aman, a Bollywood actress, has had her fair share of highs and lows. She began her career as a model and became well-known after competing in the 1970 Femina Miss India and Miss Asia Pacific International pageants. Zeenat Aman first got to know actor Raaj Kumar during a movie launch early in her career. She welcomed him, and the actor said that, considering her attractiveness, she ought to give acting a go.

Few people know that the actress had screen tests for a minor part in Chetan Anand’s 1970 Hindi love musical Heer Ranjha. However, her limited command of Urdu prevented her from getting the role. The 1766 epic poem Heer by Punjabi poet Waris Shah served as the inspiration for the movie. With Raaj Kumar playing the lead, Heer Raanjha proved to be a huge hit for Chetan Anand.

In the movie, Priya Rajvansh acted alongside Raaj Kumar. The crowd responded well to their coupling. However, few people are aware that Zeenat Aman was originally supposed to star in the movie but was eventually removed from the cast. Raaj Kumar reportedly wanted to collaborate with her but chose not to remark on Chetan’s choice. This event happened back when Zeenat Aman was trying to make a name for herself in the movie business.

Raaj Kumar, Priya Rajvansh, Pran, Prithviraj Kapoor, Ajit, Jayant, Sonia Sahni, Kamini Kaushal, Indrani Mukherjee, and Achla Sachdev were among the impressive cast members of Heer Raanjha. The film was directed by Chetan Anand, whose first film composition was composed by Madan Mohan.

In 1970, Zeenat Aman made her acting debut in movies such as Hulchul and The Evil Within. However, in 1971, she received her big break in the musical drama Haré Rama Haré Krishna. According to reports, she is now working on many movies, including Black Currency: The Fake Currency Truth Unfolds and Bun Tikki.

Raaj Kumar, meanwhile, made his screen debut in the 1952 film Rangili. He acted in a number of movies, including Lakhon Mein Ek, Ghamand, and Aabshar. However, his most famous part was that of Prince Naushazad in Nausherwan-E-Adil, directed by Sohrab Modi in 1957.
