A fifteen-year-old surfer is killed by sharks in a remote spot in southern Australia

Sydney: According to South Australian police, a 15-year-old kid was bitten by a shark and died at a secluded surfing location on Friday.
According to a statement from state police, the marine predator attacked Thursday afternoon close to Ethel Beach on the Yorke Peninsula.

“Sadly, the body of a teenage boy was recovered from the water,” they said.

The youngster was from a neighborhood in southern Adelaide; the police stated they were compiling a report for the coroner, but they did not provide any specifics about the assault.

An unnamed Ethel Beach resident was cited by Adelaide’s The Advertiser newspaper as stating that after the youngster was bitten on the leg, another surfer had swam out to assist.

“As the man hauled the youngster out of the water, the shark circled around them. The resident said, “There was a lot of blood.”

Although no specifics about the shark were provided, South Australia’s coastline is often frequented by great white sharks.

At Granites Beach in the state, witnesses witnessed a shark snatch a 55-year-old surfer in its mouth in late October. His corpse was never found again. Not far out, a big great white was seen.

In May, a 46-year-old teacher was bitten by a shark while surfing at Walkers Rock Beach in South Australia. Teams searching for him never located his corpse, but they did find a piece of his wetsuit.
