Akshata Murty acknowledges that she despises stacking the dishwasher and making beds

London: Akshata Murty, the daughter of Infosys co-founder Narayana Murthy, is content to leave her husband’s bed unmade in the mornings because “it bugs him.” However, her husband often needs to return to the Downing Street apartment from work to make the bed.

In an interview with Grazia, the multimillionaire wife of Rishi Sunak said, “I will be irritated if it is not made,” acknowledging that she is “not the most organized” and not a morning person.
Sunak used to discover dishes in Murty’s bed when they were Stanford students, and she would eat in bed.

Sunak said, “That is disgusting—not anymore,” when the No. 10 power couple disclosed their disagreements over household duties.
Sunak enjoys being in charge of the dishwasher, while Murty detests loading it. Murty constantly needs to reorganize it after stacking it. He replied, “Then more goes in as a result,” adding that her method “creates more work.”
Though he barely had time to prepare scrambled eggs on Saturdays, Sunak claimed to be the superior chef. “There is not a single meal when I come home, and they are eating those three things,” he stated, despite his desire for the family to eat veggies, carbs, and protein.
“As a child, I always made sure the kids helped set the table and clean up after meals,” said Murty, who expressed her belief that children shouldn’t be rewarded for doing domestic duties. “It would be nice if they walked the dog that they wanted to get a bit more often,” Sunak said in response.
Sunak expressed his sadness that his children, Anoushka (11), and Krishna (12), no longer had faith in their Elf on the Shelf Rocky. “It was a truly magical period,” he reflected. They were the only children remaining in the class who had that belief. Murty said that Rishi kept them running for as long as he could.
Murty engages in more physical activity than her spouse, including spin classes, whereas Sunak barely gets to go for a weekly run. She is a voracious reader, although Sunak claims he just watches “Friends” before bed. He said, “It never gets old.”
