Appropriate Word | Chinese Defense Technology Revealed in the Israel-Iran War

Following Israel’s response to Iran’s direct strike, China’s involvement in igniting the regional crisis by giving Iran more power while it was under international sanctions for decades has also come under scrutiny.

China was essential in helping Iran establish its missile technology following the Islamic Revolution and the ensuing sanctions on the country. The US-China Economic and Security Review Commission reported that sometime between mid-1994 and mid-1995, China transferred dozens, if not hundreds, of missile guidance systems and computerized machine tools to Iran. Later, in August 1996, China agreed to sell the Defense Industries Organization in Iran gyroscopes, accelerometers, and test equipment that could be used to build and test missile guidance components. These actions allowed Iran to improve the accuracy of its SCUD missiles and aided in the development of its own production capacity.

China has helped Iran build missile manufacturing facilities, which is the main way that China has helped Iran with missile knowledge, training, and technology. The biggest missile facility in Iran is situated close to Esfahan and was first constructed with Chinese aid. This factory was used to assemble Iran’s SCUD-B missile kits starting in 1987–1988.

Sources claim that China has assisted in the construction of a ballistic missile factory and test range east of Tehran, in addition to providing manufacturing support at Esfahan. China may also be engaged in the development of solid-fuel rockets at Iran’s Seman facility. Chinese technology has had a big impact on the Iranian missiles that are in use today.

EXPOSED: CHINESE DEFENCE TECH
Iran attacked Israel with great force on April 13. Roughly half of the Iranian missiles reportedly did not fire and made it to their target. This raises grave concerns regarding the efficacy of the Chinese missile technology that Iran was given.

The Iranian assault on Israel on April 13, 2024, was investigated and the results were published by the Institute for the Study of War. which states that Israel intercepted all one of Iran’s 170 drone launches, 108 of its 120 ballistic missiles, and all 30 of its cruise missiles. The current strike highlights the inadequacies of China’s technology, exposing its unreliability and inaccuracy and cautioning other countries against depending on Chinese defense imports, especially in light of the technology’s historical influence in Iran’s missile program.

The hack highlights China’s restrictions on technology transfer to foreign countries. Other countries should be discouraged from depending on Chinese defense imports due to the unpredictability and imprecision of Chinese technology.

Iran has never been happy with the quality of Chinese weaponry. According to a thorough analysis on Chinese arms exports conducted by The Strategic Studies Institute, Iran’s purchases of Chinese weapons have been declining over time due to the subpar quality of Chinese weaponry. Iran was given full access to China’s BeiDou satellite system in 2021 for military purposes. Iran employs the Chinese-made Beidou Navigation System for drone navigation, hence, the drone attack’s notable failure highlights Chinese technology’s weaknesses.

Thailand, Nigeria, Myanmar, Pakistan, and other nations have all suffered from the inadequacies of Chinese military hardware. These countries have traditionally refrained from depending exclusively on China for their military requirements due to the consistently subpar quality of Chinese defense equipment.

China and Iranian defense manufacturers have close ties.
J-6 Fighters, T-5 Tanks, T-59 Tanks, F-6 Fighters, Anti-Tank Guns, T-69 Tanks, HY-2 “Silkworm” anti-ship missile, C-801 Anti-ship Missile, M-7 Short-range Ballistic Missile (300–500 km), F-7 Fighters, Houdong Missile Boat, C-701 Anti-ship Missile, Nasr-1 (C-704), and Shahed Drones are among the defenses that China has so far provided to Iran.

Iranwatch.org reports that there are significant relations between Chinese and Iranian defense industries. Mado Import and Export corporation Limited, an Iranian defense corporation, purchases its Shahed drone engines mostly from Beijing Micropilot UAV Flight Control Systems. These drones were utilized by Iran in their strike on Israel on April 13. Three Chinese enterprises are engaged in providing Iranian firms with optical equipment intended for military use. Sunway Tech Co. Ltd., Raybeam Optronics Co. Ltd., and Wuhan IRCEN Technology Co. Ltd. are the Chinese enterprises. These are closely collaborating with three Iranian companies: Rayan Electronic Farda Company, Rayan Laser Test Company, and Rayan Pardazesh Pezhvak Company.

CHINESE AID FOR Religious Organizations
It is well known that China has supported groups such as Hamas. Chinese engineers created the M-302 missiles that Hamas uses, and Syrian manufacturers produced them. Samuel Lim, the Chief Compliance Officer of Chinese business Binance Holdings Ltd. at the time, admitted to a colleague in February 2019 that Hamas was receiving funding via the cryptocurrency exchange, although he clarified that terrorists often contributed “small sums” of money. The US government has charged Binance with “willfully” neglecting to disclose more than 100,000 questionable transactions from a number of extremist organizations, including Hamas, Al Qaeda, ISIS, and others. Changpeng Zhao, the CEO of the firm, was forced to resign from his position after his guilty plea.

Binance’s internal documents clearly recognize the company’s cooperation with Chinese government authorities, including the exchange of data gathered from its international activities. There is also a Chinese connection to the rockets that the Houthi rebels employ in the Red Sea. Recall that the Houthi rebels have chosen which foreign warships to attack. Chinese ships have not been damaged.
