Did the US bomb the PMF military base in Iraq? American Military Makes Clear

One PMF fighter was killed and five others were injured in an explosion at a military installation used by the Iraqi PMF on Friday, according to Reuters, which cited sources. The event happened in the Babylon Governorate, which is south of Baghdad. Al-Mahawil General Hospital is where those who were wounded were treated.

A statement confirming the explosion at the Forward Operating Base Kalsu, or “FOB Kalsu,” was issued by the Popular Mobilization Forces.

“An explosion occurred at the headquarters of the Popular Mobilization Forces at the Kalsu military base in the Al-Mashrou district on the highway, north of Babil Governorate,” the statement said.

“An investigative team was sent to the location right once, and injuries and material losses were incurred by the explosion. We shall provide you with the particulars as soon as the first inquiry is over.”

Early Iraqi reports suggested that the US may have been involved in the explosion, however the US military denied any participation and said they were not at fault.
“Reports indicating that US airstrikes were carried out in Iraq today are known to us. These reports don’t exist. US Central Command said on X that “the United States has not carried out airstrikes in Iraq today.”

The explosion occurred one day after reports surfaced that Israel had launched a military operation close to a significant nuclear and air facility in central Iran. Iran has refrained from disclosing the identity of the perpetrator, while Israel has remained silent about the event. The International Atomic Energy Agency verified that there was “no damage” to Iran’s nuclear installations, and no significant damage was detected.
