Elon Musk calls Justin Trudeau’s “crushing free speech” a “shameful” act

The inventor and CEO of SpaceX, Elon Musk, criticized the Justin Trudeau administration in Canada for “crushing free speech” there. Online streaming providers must now legally register with the government in Canada in order to be subject to “regulatory controls.” Elon Musk said this in response to this most recent order.

Musk was replying to a statement made about the decision by author and journalist Glenn Greenwald.

Greenwald said on X (previously Twitter): “The Canadian government, equipped with one of the most oppressive internet censorship regimes in the world, declares that all “online streaming services that provide podcasts” must publicly register with the government to facilitate regulatory oversight.

Elon Musk responded by saying, “Trudeau is attempting to stifle free expression in Canada. Shameful”.

It should be noted that the Trudeau administration has already been accused of stifling free expression.

For the first time in the nation’s history, Trudeau declared an emergency in February 2022 to give his administration additional authority to respond to trucker demonstrations over vaccination requirements at the time.

Meanwhile, the Canadian Prime Minister caused a stir when he claimed that India was responsible for the death of Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar.

India has categorically refuted the allegations, labeling them as “absurd” and “motivated.”

Notably, Canada has not yet made any public proof of the alleged murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar available.

In response to suspicions of Indian complicity in the death made by Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, India has banned its visa services in Canada.

India issued a warning to its nationals and anyone visiting Canada amid difficult relations, urging them to proceed with “utmost caution in view of growing anti-India activities and politically-condoned hate crimes and criminal violence” in the nation.
