If Israeli strikes on Gaza continue, Iran’s foreign minister issues a warning that war may break out

According to reports, Iran’s foreign minister issued a warning on Friday, saying that if Israel’s assaults on the Gaza Strip don’t cease right away, the conflict might expand to other regions of the Middle East.

Hossein Amirabdollahian is on a journey that brought him to Baghdad before Beirut, and he will be visiting the Syrian capital of Damascus later in the day. According to The New Arab, Iran finances strong terrorist organizations across the region, including Hezbollah in Lebanon and factions of the Popular Mobilization Forces in Iraq.

Following a meeting with his colleague, Amirabdollahian addressed the media in Beirut. The two officials demanded a halt to Israel’s airstrikes on Gaza. Along with the speaker of the House of Representatives and interim Prime Minister Najib Mikati, he also met with Hezbollah commander Hassan Nasrallah.

After Hamas attacked southern Israel on Saturday, killing hundreds of people, there have been worries that the conflict may expand to Lebanon’s border, where Hezbollah soldiers have been on high alert.

Two of Syria’s biggest international airports—in Damascus and Aleppo—were damaged by an Israeli missile strike on Thursday, rendering them inoperable. An airfield in the coastal province of Latakia received a diversion of flights. The bombings followed shelling of the Israeli-occupied Golan Heights by Syria.

Three Hezbollah militants died on Monday as a result of sporadic acts of violence that occurred during the previous days near the Israel-Lebanon border. According to the Israeli military, an anti-tank missile strike on Wednesday resulted in the death of one Israeli soldier, according to The New Arab.

Amirabdollahian said, “What is ironic is that at a time when America is urging parties to exercise caution, it is permitting the criminals in the fictitious Zionist state to massacre women, children, and civilians in Gaza.

“If these organized war crimes that are being committed by the Zionist entity don’t stop immediately,” he said, “then we can imagine any possibility.” He did not clarify, but it seemed to be a signal that forces supported by Iran would enter the conflict, according to The New Arab.
