In Pakistan’s Chung, Lahore Underworld Don Ameer Balaj Tipu was shot and killed at a wedding ceremony

The proprietor of a commodities transport network and a notorious figure in Lahore’s underworld, Ameer Balaj Tipu, was shot and killed on February 18 at a wedding in the Chung neighborhood by an unidentified assailant, according to a private TV channel cited by news agency Dawn.

Tipu was regarded by many as one of the most powerful and feared underworld characters in Lahore. Police sources state that Balaj and two other visitors were shot by the attacker, who caused significant injuries to them. But Balaj’s armed cronies struck back immediately, killing the assailant on the spot. It was at Jinnah Hospital when Balaj went away.

Arif Amir’s son Ameer Balaj Tipu, popularly known as Tipu Truckanwala, lost his life in an incident at the Allama Iqbal airport in 2010 due to wounds he received from gunfire. Balaj’s grandpa was also involved in a long-standing conflict, contributing to the violent past of the family, according to Dawn.
