India Requests That Its Citizens Stay Away From Iran And Israel Because War Could Break Out “Anytime Soon”

Indian people: Amid growing tensions between the two nations after the assault on the Iranian consulate in Damascus, Syria, eleven days ago, India on Friday urged its people not to visit Iran or Israel. Iran accuses Israel of carrying out this strike, and there are fears that Iran may attack Israel again soon.

Indians residing in Iran and Israel have received advice from the Ministry of External Affairs to be very cautious about their safety and limit their activities. It said, “All Indians are advised not to travel to Iran or Israel until further notice, given the current situation in the region.”

Speak with Indian Embassy
The Ministry of External Affairs said, “Anyone who is currently staying in Iran or Israel is requested to contact the Indian Embassy there and get themselves registered.”

Iran Might Launch an Attack on Israel
The government’s recommendation coincides with escalating hostilities between the two nations after the assault on the Iranian embassy in Syria eleven days earlier. Iran has accused Israel of carrying out this assault, and there are worries that Tehran could strike Israel again shortly.

The Total Number of Indians in Both Countries
Approximately 18,000 Indian nationals reside in Israel; the majority of them work as carers or as professionals in IT-related sectors. Approximately 4,000 Indian nationals, including professors and small business owners, reside in Iran.

India voiced worry last week over the attack that killed seven people, including the top commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Zahedi, inside the Iranian embassy premises in Damascus. Hossein Amirabdollahian, Iran’s foreign minister, described the incident as “a violation of all international obligations and conventions.”

In addition to India, people of France and Russia have also been advised not to come to the area, as tensions over the ongoing seven-month conflict in Gaza continue to mount.

The Israeli military said on Thursday that, although it had not given any new orders to civilians, its personnel were on high alert and ready for any eventuality.

Regarding allegations that several Israeli diplomatic posts had been partly evacuated and security had been increased, the foreign ministry of Israel remained silent.

Yedioth Ahronoth, the biggest daily newspaper in Israel, predicted that “revenge will come.” “At this time, the assumption is that it will happen very soon, probably within the next few days.”

The bombing on April 1 that killed six additional officers, including Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Zahedi, a top leader in the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps, as they were attending a conference in the Damascus embassy complex, was not attributed to Israel.

However, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the supreme leader of Iran, charged Israel and said that it “must be punished and shall be” for what he saw to be an assault on Iranian territory.

A senior researcher at Israel’s Institute for National Security Studies, Raz Zimmt, said that Iran would find it very difficult to avoid retaliation.

“I continue to think that Iran has no intention of fighting Israel directly or even with the United States on a large scale. However, it needs to take action.
