Karachi: One Japanese victim murdered in Pakistani suicide explosion, five others escape unharmed

Five Japanese employees of Suzuki Motors were fortunate to escape, but their private security guard lost his life when a suicide bomber and a gunman attacked their van here in Pakistan’s port city on Friday, marking the most recent terrorist assault on foreign people in the nation.

The two terrorists tried to attack the van transporting Japanese nationals on the road near Murtaza Chorangi in Landhi, according to Deputy Inspector General (DIG) East Azfar Mahesar. The terrorists had previously been waiting for the van.

He claimed, “All five Japanese remained safe” during the early-morning incident at a posh neighborhood in Karachi. In the incident, the suicide bomber was killed, and a police officer shot and killed an accomplice. Two spectators were hurt, and the private security guard who was with the Japanese national passed away from his wounds, according to authorities cited by Dawn News.

He stated, “The Japanese nationals were traveling from their home in Zamzama, Clifton, to the Export Processing Zone.” According to sources, Pakistan Suzuki Motors was collaborating with the Japanese nationals.

According to Jinnah Hospital authorities, three patients were admitted to the hospital with serious injuries. A 45-year-old security guard was among the wounded; he passed away from his wounds, while another injured person was placed on a ventilator, according to a statement from the hospital administration obtained by Geo News. According to the management, the hospital is now treating one additional wounded patient.
