Although there are still a few states where votes need to be cast before Republican Donald Trump is officially named his party’s candidate, Tuesday’s results indicate that nothing will stop Trump from winning the GOP nomination unless his opponent Nikki Haley surprises everyone.

US President Joe Biden defeated unknown contender Jason Palmer in American Samoa but prevailed in Democratic primaries in Alabama, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Iowa, Maine, Massachusetts, Minnesota, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Texas, Tennessee, Utah, Vermont, and Virginia.

A boisterous throng heard Trump say, “There’s a reason it’s called Super Tuesday.” He continued to criticize Biden for the US pullout from Afghanistan and the border between the US and Mexico, according to an Associated Press story. According to the story, Trump’s Mar-a-Lago mansion began to celebrate as the results came in.

Additionally, there was a victory celebration, with baked brie and empanadas among the hors d’oeuvres.

According to a report by The Hill, Trump said, “November 5… is going to go down as the single most important day in the history of our country.”

Trump made no mention of Nikki Haley, the Republican opponent who has not yet declared her candidacy.

VERMONT ASSURANCE
After winning the Vermont primary, Nikki Haley—a former governor of South Carolina and US ambassador to the UN under the Trump administration—made sure that Trump would not get the required number of delegates on Tuesday to secure his party’s candidacy.

The real estate tycoon, according to The Hill article, will probably reach the necessary number of delegates by March 19 at the latest and will almost certainly emerge as the presumed candidate.

With the unexpected shock victory in Vermont, Nikki Haley achieved her greatest victory since the beginning of the Republican primary. She had already prevailed in the Washington, DC, GOP nomination process.
