The Baloch Community Marks March 27 as “Black Day”

Amsterdam: On March 27, the Baloch community throughout the globe commemorated Black Day. This time, the Dutch Baloch National Movement held a protest gathering in Amsterdam and demanded international attention to the Baloch genocide. The demonstrators, brandishing flags and posters, condemned Pakistani soldiers’ forcible annexation of Balochistan.

Additionally, leaflets were being distributed by protesters to educate the public on the situation in Balochistan.

For what reason is Black Day observed?
Protesters underlined how Pakistani soldiers seized Balochistan on March 27, 1948, as a way of highlighting their fight.

Islam Murad Baloch, a member of the Baloch National Movement, posted on social media site X with the statement, “The international community must intervene in Balochistan against the violations of Baloch human rights.” Pakistan needs to be sanctioned by the UN and human rights advocates for violating the rights of the Baloch people. Pakistan needs to get out of Balochistan.

Fazila Baloch, an additional activist, emphasised that Balochistan was unlawfully taken on March 27 and was never a part of Pakistan.

“Pakistan never included Balochistan. It was taken unlawfully on March 27, 1948. The Baloch people have been fighting back against the invasion of their homeland ever since. Fazila said on X that Balochistan is not Pakistan.

Challenges Baloch Citizens Face
The nation’s intelligence service, Inter-Services Intelligence, has been accused of carrying out a variety of crimes, including kidnapping, murdering, and torturing people in order to inspire terror, in Balochistan, Pakistan’s most impoverished region.

Additionally, activists from the Baloch community are joining a petition to demand that foreign authorities intervene in the continuing genocide against their fellow citizens.

They are requesting that the UN and human rights agencies intervene and hold the government responsible for the atrocities carried out in Balochistan. They also seek an investigation into the situation conducted by a United Nations Working Group fact-finding mission.
