The message from Dubai Airport to travelers amid disruptions in flight operations caused by rain is, “We’re Working Continuously.”

Due to the bad weather, all incoming planes scheduled to arrive on Tuesday were diverted by Dubai International (DXB). The busiest airport in the world for foreign travelers is DXB. Departures from Dubai continued as normal.

“The airport’s access roads are severely flooded, and the weather is predicted to be erratic until tomorrow morning. In many postings on its X page, the DXB advised travelers to “remember to check your flight status with your airline and allow significant extra time to travel to the airport.”

Over 142 millimeters (5.59 inches) of rain fell over Dubai in a single day at Tuesday’s conclusion. At Dubai International Airport, 94.7 millimeters (3.73 inches) of rain fall there annually on average.

At 7:26 p.m. (local time), the airport officially stopped accepting new arrivals. It was then said that operations would progressively restart more than two hours later. It admitted that many travelers were unable to get to the airport because of waterlogged roads in its most recent post on X. It advised travelers to factor in a sizable amount of additional time for their trip to the airport.

The airport administration also admitted that a large number of travelers were unable to get at the airport in time for their departure flights, despite their best efforts to provide food and water to everyone who needed it.

Before leaving for the airport, travelers were also urged to check the status of their flights with the appropriate airlines.

Airlines and FlyDubai have both announced flight cancellations. According to Khaleej Times, all flydubai flights that were supposed to leave from Dubai on April 16 have been canceled until 10 a.m. on April 17.

“Many flights to and from DXB are experiencing delays or interruptions due to unfavorable weather conditions. The airline Emirates wrote a message encouraging customers to keep monitoring the status of their flights and offered links to their internal website. “We are working hard to get all affected passengers to their final destination safely, and will provide updates as soon as possible,” the post added.
