Top No Evidence Exists That Covid Was Created in a Chinese Lab, According to US Intelligence Body

According to the director of US intelligence, there is no proof that the Covid-19 virus was developed at the Wuhan research facility of the Chinese government.

The Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI) said in a declassified study that there was no evidence to support current assertions that three scientists at the facility were among the very first to get Covid-19 and may have even invented the virus.

Based on information gathered by several US intelligence community (IC) member agencies, the ODNI report claimed that some scientists at the Wuhan facility had genetically modified coronaviruses identical to Covid-19.

However, the US “has no information” that they had conducted such research on the particular Covid-19 virus, also known as SARS-CoV-2, or on any “close progenitor, or a backbone virus that is closely related-enough to have been the source of the pandemic.”

The study, which was created for Congress and had an unclassified annex, was issued three months after legislators sought a more thorough explanation of the details provided by US intelligence about the causes of the epidemic that broke out at the tail end of 2019.

According to some MPs, Beijing hid proof that the virus was a result of so-called gain-of-function genetic engineering research at Wuhan, and Beijing produced the virus.

The ODNI study reiterated a finding made public in March, stating that “almost all” of its component agencies, including the NSA, CIA, and FBI, estimate that Covid-19 was not genetically created and that the majority also think it was not lab-adapted.

However, much as in March, the ODNI report could not rule out the likelihood that Covid-19 was being investigated at the time in the Wuhan facility and may have escaped accidentally.

According to ODNI, the intelligence community is still split on whether the pandemic resulted from a lab breach or a natural occurrence of the virus, maybe spread by bats or other animals.

According to the article, the Wuhan lab collaborated with the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) on pathogen research and vaccine production “for public health needs.”

However, the paper said that the coronaviruses utilized in this study “were too distantly related to have caused the creation of SARS-CoV-2.”

It vehemently denied claims that the PLA developed Covid-19 as a bioweapon.

In response to the claim that three coronavirus researchers at the Wuhan laboratory contracted Covid-19 right before the epidemic, the ODNI study addressed the issue.

US intelligence, according to the report, discovered that many Wuhan researchers did become “mildly” unwell in the fall of 2019.

It said that although some of their symptoms were compatible with Covid-19, others were not.

Additionally, it said that US intelligence was unaware of whether people who fell ill handled live viruses at work.

The researchers’ symptoms may have been brought on by a variety of illnesses, the IC said, therefore the facts neither supported nor refuted any theory on the origins of the pandemic.
