US President Joe Biden’s son Hunter has been charged with income tax evasion and illegal weapon possession

According to a letter sent to US District Court in Delaware, the Department of Justice (DoJ) has accused Hunter Biden, the son of US President Joe Biden, of failing to pay federal income taxes and of illegally possessing a firearm.

The new information comes after a protracted inquiry and debate over Hunter. The Republicans are also chasing Hunter and his father on claims that Hunter abused the power that came with his father’s high rank.

Hunter has not only been accused of the crimes, but also of having an extramarital romance with his sister-in-law and abusing drugs in the past.

Prior to now, Outlook said that “Hunter personally has a history of drug misuse. Hunter started drinking when he was a youngster and switched to cocaine in his college years, although his father remains a teetotaler. He also had a contentious divorce from his ex-wife Kathleen Buhle, who said he struggled with “massive” addiction. He also had a relationship with Hallie, the wife of his late brother Beau, who was his sister-in-law.In his professional life, Hunter has come under fire for allegedly exploiting his father’s reputation to get lucrative positions and for having ties to organisations that have been linked to bribery and dubious commercial dealings. A federal inquiry against his tax evasion has been ongoing since 2018.

Hunter will admit to misdemeanour tax offences as part of the deal, which was made public on Tuesday, and is anticipated to make a deal with prosecutors on the felony allegation of unlawfully carrying a handgun while using drugs.

Even if it is not entirely unheard of, it is uncommon for a federal criminal case to be resolved concurrently with the filing of the charges.

The agreement puts an end to a protracted Justice Department inquiry into Biden’s second son, who has admitted having drug issues in the wake of his brother Beau Biden’s death in 2015.

Additionally, it avoids a trial that would have caused days, weeks, or distracting headlines for a White House that has adamantly tried to separate itself from the Justice Department.

The information being released at the same time as House Republicans are conducting their own inquiries into almost every element of Hunter Biden’s business operations, including his foreign payments and other financial matters.

Additionally, it comes just days after former President Donald Trump was charged with mishandling 37 counts of sensitive information on his Florida resort, a separate case with much more serious political ramifications.

Concerns about his son’s business affairs and drug abuse have also been raised against Joe Biden.
