US: Three trains in Pennsylvania crash and derrail

Three trains were engaged in a collision and derailment in eastern Pennsylvania, according to the authorities. A few train carriages were left half submerged in the river and strewn over the riverbank after the catastrophe.

According to officials, the derailment in Lower Saucon Township near the Lehigh River was reported at around 7:15 a.m. There were no dangerous items involved, and no orders for evacuation were given.

Authorities claimed that a second Norfolk Southern train that had stopped on the same track was hit by an oncoming Norfolk Southern train. A westbound train impacted debris from the striking train that had spilled onto a nearby track.
