Zelensky criticizes the Western help for air defense’s sluggish delivery

Volodymyr Zelensky, the president of Ukraine, has emphasized once again how much his nation needs air defense weaponry.

Zelensky said that Ukraine urgently needs additional air defense systems and Western fighter planes in his daily video message on Monday night.

He said, “Unfortunately, the free world lacks speed on these two issues,” and went on to say that Russia can use glide bombs to attack Ukrainian towns and defense positions since it has stronger air power.

Zelensky said that the Russians were actively using damaging methods in the eastern part of Donetsk, Ukraine, near Kharkiv, as well as in the direction of Chasiv Yar and Pokrovsk.

Zelensky has already made many requests in recent days for the arrival of two more Patriot air defense systems.

He said that Kharkiv, which has often been bombed from the air, will be better protected as a result. One of the cities most severely damaged by the conflict is in northeastern Ukraine.

Furthermore, Zelensky said that Ukraine had been promised fighter planes a year before. Official reports, however, state that the F-16s have still not arrived.

Experts claim that Russia is able to be ready for the new weaponry because of the typically lengthy delivery schedules of Western armaments.
