Aarogya Maitri Cubes to be Deployed in Tribal Districts to Improve Access to Healthcare under the Modi Administration

According to report, the federal government has instructed the ministry of tribal affairs to set up the Aarogya Maitri Cube—the first portable hospital created in the world—in tribal communities all across the nation. India has created the world’s first disaster hospital that can be flown, packed in 72 cubes, including an operating room, a mini-ICU, ventilator, blood test equipment, X-ray machine, cooking station, food, water, shelter, and much more.

Despite the fact that HLL Life Care is the government’s nodal agency for purchasing the Aarogya Maitri Cube, various merchants have taken up the manufacture because it comprises a range of goods.

HLL SUBMITS PROJECT TO THE MINISTRY OF TRIBAL AFFAIRS

HLL Lifecare, a central public sector division of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, has asked union minister Arjun Munda to take into account implementing the initiative in “all the tribal district headquarters” in a letter.

The ministry has shown interest in the proposal, according to a government source with knowledge of the matter.

They are enthusiastic about deployment. We are developing a deployment and demonstration strategy, the speaker stated.

Apart from the ministry of tribal affairs, numerous other states have also showed interest in deployment, the source said. Without providing any more information, he stated, “For instance, Maharashtra has shown interest and had proposed to deploy these cubes in 30 district headquarters.”

AN AFRAID FRIEND

Along with Myanmar and Sri Lanka, the source said that India recently provided five cubes to Libya through the UAE government as a gesture of goodwill.

India would provide vital medical supplies to any developing nation suffering from natural disasters or humanitarian crises as part of this program, which is a component of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Project BHISHM” (Bharat Health program for Sahyog Hita and Maitri).

In the letter dated September 12, HLL said that “India has proposed to set up a center of excellence to facilitate development solutions for such countries,” adding that “the cube is cost-effective as it is packed in a way that makes it reusable with minimal wastage.”
