“Diwali Gift” for Mumbai residents: CM Shinde announces that Metro Lines 2A and 7 would henceforth operate till 11 p.m

Because of this, the last train on Metro lines 2A and 7 will leave at 11 p.m. rather than the current 10.30 p.m. As the president of MMRDA, Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has declared this to be a Diwali present for Mumbai residents.

This decision means that the expanded Metro schedules will start on Saturday, November 11. Passengers will be able to ride in a luxurious and environmentally efficient Metro vehicle securely till 11 p.m. “Diwali is a festival of excitement,” Chief Minister Shinde said when declaring the change. We have made the critical choice to extend Mumbai Metro’s operating hours for the benefit and convenience of its residents.

He said that there was a request to extend the Metro service’s hours during the Diwali season. But it has now been agreed to prolong this service indefinitely, not only for the duration of the festival. Mumbai Metro offers secure and environmentally friendly public transportation. The Mumbai metropolitan area’s public transportation system is becoming stronger. Many thousands of people have begun using the Metro to commute comfortably every day, according to Shinde.

Mangal Prabhat Lodha, the guardian minister of the Mumbai suburbs region, had first suggested that the Metro operate longer hours on Diwali. The chief minister has made a significant decision to prolong this period on a regular basis in addition to during festivals. Instead of leaving at 10.30 pm, the last train on Mumbai Metro route 2A between Andheri West and the Gundavali station on Metro route 7 will now leave at 11 pm. Approximately 253 services now operate at intervals of 7.5 to 10.5 minutes between Gundavali and Andheri West on Metro lines 2A and 7, Monday through Friday, between 5.55 am and 10.30 late. There will now be 257 journeys between these stations from 5.55 am to 11 pm owing to the Metro’s increased hours. Additionally, two extra Metro journeys between Dahanukarwadi and Andheri West and two extra Metro trips from Dahisar West to Gundavali have been made accessible after 10 p.m.

“Up to now, almost 6 crore people have traveled on Metro lines 2A and 7. Roughly 1.6 lakh residents of Mumbai have acquired One Card.
