PM Modi suggests a G20 virtual summit at the end of November

On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi suggested that the G20 have a virtual meeting at the end of November to review the recommendations and choices made during the leaders’ summit that ended here on Sunday.

At the conclusion of the two-day G20 meeting in New Delhi, Prime Minister Modi emphasized that India would formally hold the G20 presidency until November 30 and that there were still more than two and a half months remaining in the country’s term as group leader.

“Over the last two days, you have expressed your opinions, offered advice, and advanced a number of initiatives. We have a duty to carefully consider how to expedite the ideas that have been made, Modi remarked.

“I suggest that we convene a virtual G20 gathering at the end of November. We may go through the topics that have been resolved at this summit during that session. Our teams will let everyone know the specifics of it. I’m hoping that everyone will attend this session,” he stated.

With this, Modi proclaimed the G20 conference to be over. He used a Sanskrit shloka in his prayer for global peace and optimism.

Earlier, during the adjourning meeting, Modi turned over the gavel and wished Brazil luck in its upcoming presidency. On December 1 of this year, Brazil will formally assume the role of the elite grouping’s president.
