The Defense Minister will attend the North Tech Symposium and dedicate 90 infrastructure projects in Jammu

An official said that Defence Minister Rajnath Singh would spend a day in Jammu on Tuesday, when he will virtually launch 90 BRO projects and attend the North Tech Symposium.

Four airstrips and helipads have been created along the northern and western borders as part of the Border Roads Organization’s (BRO) infrastructure initiatives, according to a defense spokeswoman.

Singh will travel to Samba to open the cutting-edge 422.9-meter Devak bridge on the Bishnah-Kaulpur-Phulpur Road after arriving in Jammu in the morning.

According to the official, the bridge is one of 90 infrastructure projects worth Rs 2,941 crores that BRO has constructed, including 21 roads, 64 bridges, one tunnel, two airstrips, and two helipads.

Defense forces should prioritize it strategically since it will advance the socioeconomic progress of the area. The spokesman said that further initiatives will be introduced virtually.

Later, at IIT Jammu’s Jagti campus, the defense minister will attend the current North Tech Symposium.

On Monday, Lt Gen M V Suchindra Kumar, Vice Chief of Army Staff, opened the three-day symposium.
