Aditya Srivastava of Lucknow aces the UPSC test, followed by Animesh Pradhan

The UPSC released the Civil Services Exam 2023 results on Tuesday. Aditya Srivastava, an IIT Kanpur BTech electrical engineering graduate, took first place.

Srivastava, a native of Lucknow, passed the test with electrical engineering selected as an elective. He had also earned a perfect score of 95% in Class XII. He is now training at the Hyderabad Police Academy to become an IPS officer. He had earlier spent 15 months working in Bengaluru for Goldman Sachs.

Animesh Pradhan, an NIT Rourkela BTech computer science graduate, took sociology as an elective and placed second.

Donuru Ananya Reddy, a Miranda House, Delhi University BA Hons geography graduate, placed third with anthropology as her elective. K Sidharth Ramkumar, a BArch student at the College of Architecture in Trivandrum, who chose anthropology as his elective, came in fourth.

Ruhani, who studied economics as an elective subject and graduated with a BA Hons from St Stephens College, Delhi University, came in fifth place. Thirteen applicants from Jamia Millia Islamia, eleven of them were female, passed the Civil Services test this year.

According to the UPSC, 1,016 applicants in all passed the test and were recommended for various Central Government posts. Up to 115 people are from the economically disadvantaged group, while 303, 165, and 86 are OBC, SC, and ST members, respectively. 347 people remain who fall under the broad group.

Shaurya Arora, 24, of Jhajjar, has ranked fourteenth in Haryana. Dr. Gurleen, a Punjabi PCS officer from Jalandhar, placed 30th.
